Prescription eyewear is not a commodity. The lenses that sit in front of your eyes every single day need to be exactly right — the right power, the right centration, the right coating, glazed with precision by skilled hands.

We are proud to take our time. Before your order ever reaches our lab, one of our GOC-registered optometrists personally reviews your prescription and lens choices. If anything raises a question — whether it's an unusual prescription, a query about the lens type selected, or something that simply doesn't look right — we will contact you first. We would rather spend an extra day getting it right than send something that isn't perfect.

There are services out there built around speed. We are not one of them. We are built around quality, care, and the belief that the glasses you wear every day are worth doing properly.

Every order placed with The Eye Centre follows the same careful process — each step exists to ensure your glasses are exactly right when they arrive.

You complete your order online, selecting your frames, lenses, and submitting your prescription details.
Prescription verified by our optometrist
One of our GOC-registered optometrists personally reviews your prescription and the lens options you have selected. If anything requires clarification — an unusual power, a query about your chosen lens type, or anything that needs confirming — we will contact you directly before proceeding. We would always rather ask than assume.
Lab manufacturing & glazing
Your lenses are manufactured to your exact prescription by our specialist optical lab. They are then precision-glazed into your chosen frames by skilled technicians. This is where the craft lies — and it cannot be rushed.
Final quality check & packaging
Before your order is packaged, we carry out a final inspection to verify the lenses are correct, the frame is properly fitted, and everything meets our standard. Only then do we consider your order complete.

Why does it take

We know that waiting feels long. But every day within that window is a day that something meaningful is happening to your order — it is not sitting in a warehouse, it is being made for you.

The process of prescription verification, specialist lab manufacturing, precision glazing, and quality inspection cannot be compressed without compromising the result. We are an independent optical practice with over 38 years of experience — and that experience tells us that getting your glasses right is always worth more than getting them quickly.

Complex prescriptions may take a little longer High-powered or specialist prescriptions occasionally require additional manufacturing time. If this applies to your order, we will let you know as soon as we are aware — and we will always keep you updated.
